<text><span class="style1">If you're lost, or you need some advice on operating this program, here are some tips to get you going. To close this screen, just click in the little box in the upper left hand corner. To print out this Help screen, click on the "Print" button at any time.</span><span class="style4">Getting Around</span><span class="style1">The pictures you see on your computer screen are like doors. Each door leads you to a different part of the program. The more doors you open, the deeper you'll go into the program. To open any one of the pictures you see on the screen, just point at it with your cursor and click. Keep clicking until you get to a place in the program you're interested in viewing. The computer screen will keep track of where you've been by displaying a portion of each picture you've previously opened.To go back to the place you started, click on the picture that represents that place. Or, click on the Super Button to go back to the Main Menu (see below for a description of the Super Button). Keep in mind that the entire screen is active at all times. If you want to go to another section of the program, find its picture (or a portion of its picture) on the screen, and click on it. </span><span class="style4">Main Menu</span><span class="style1">Each time you start the program, you'll begin at the Main Menu. The Main Menu is a visual directory of the program's five main sections: Introduction, Political Commercial, Product Commercial, Public Service Announcement, and Advertising Challenge. To explore any one of these sections, just click on its picture.</span><span class="style4">Super Button</span><span class="style1">The Super Button is located at the bottom left of your computer screen. It's designed to take you certain places in the program instantly. Click on the Super Button to go to the Main Menu; see a list of media literacy resources; access this Help screen; or quit the program at any time.</span><span class="style4">Resources</span><span class="style1">The program includes a list of electronic media and publications on media literacy. You'll also find the names and addresses of organizations you can contact for more information. To access this list, open the Super Button and click on Resources. </span><span class="style4">Arrow Buttons</span><span class="style1">The arrows at the bottom right of your computer screen take you to other screens within a section. See the user's manual for an illustration.</span><span class="style4">Video Buttons </span><span class="style1">Click on these to see motion video segments. If you want to know what a particular segment is about, move your cursor over the button to get an overview.See your user's manual for an illustration.</span><span class="style4">Audio Buttons</span><span class="style1">Click on these button to hear audio segments. If you want to know what a particular segment is about, move your cursor over the button to get an overview. </span><span class="style4">Stills Button</span><span class="style1">Click on this button to see a series of still images. If you want to know what images are shown, move your cursor over the button to get an overview. </span><span class="style4">Videodisc Remote Control</span><span class="style1">Every time you click on a video, audio, or stills button, a remote control for the videodisc will automatically "pop up" on your computer screen. During a video segment, the control lets you play the video at different speeds, step through the video frame by frame, pause, or stop the video and return to where you started. During an audio segment, the control lets you play the audio at full speed, or pause. When you're done listening to the audio segment, click on the tiny box located at the top left of the control to return to where you started. During a series of still images, the control lets you step through each image, either forward or in reverse. When you're done viewing the images, click on the tiny box located at the top left of the control to return to where you started. </span><span class="style4">Videodisc Settings</span><span class="style1">If you can't get your videodisc to play, make sure you tell the computer which type of player you're using. Press the command key and type the number "1" to go to the first screen in the program. ** Click on the buttton marked "Player Type" and select your player by clicking on the appropriate model. Then select the baud rate that your player uses (the default setting for most Pioneer players is 4800; for most Sony players, it is 9600). ** Please note: Help must be closed before you can go to the setup card.If you're not sure what type of player you have, refer to the instructions that came with it. Or, experiment with the settings listed until you find one that works. </span><span class="style4">Quitting</span><span class="style1">You can stop the program anywhere, anytime. To quit, click on the Super Button, then click on "Quit." Or, press the command key and type the letter "Q."</span></text>
